Zhao et al. investigated the role of the complement C3/C3aR signaling pathway in a laser-induced retinal vein occlusion (RVO) mouse model and demonstrated that blocking C3aR effectively reduced retinal edema, vascular leakage, and functional impairment. Their multimodal assessment included OCT, fundus imaging, fluorescein angiography, ERG, and behavioral testing. The OptoDrum was used to assess visual acuity and contrast sensitivity.
