Mickevičius et al. provide a comprehensive characterization of the rat magnetic microbead model of ocular hypertension by integrating SD-OCT, pERG, optomotor tracking, and behavioral analyses. They demonstrate significant correlations between elevated intraocular pressure and structural as well as functional retinal changes, highlighting the model’s relevance for glaucoma research. The OptoDrum was used to evaluate visual acuity and contrast sensitivity.
