UV ERG Booster
Striatech's UV ERG-Booster expands the spectral stimulation capabilities of any ganzfeld ERG systems to ultra-violet (UV) wavelengths, matching the unique photoreceptor physiology of rodents: The UV-sensitive S-opsin makes up about half of the cone opsin in rodent retina.
Developed at the University of Tübingen by Prof. Mathias Seeliger together with Striatech, it sets new standards in ERG ganzfeld stimulation.
Enhance Your ERG Device
Striatech’s UV ERG Booster unlocks the full potential of cone ERG responses in animals with UV-sensitive opsins. In mice, about half of the retinas´ cone opsins are UV-sensitive and hardly stimulated by conventional ERG. The UV ERG booster enhances photopic ERG sensitivity by at least 1 log unit (2 ERG lines when using half-logarithmic steps), providing more accurate and comprehensive access to retinal function in the discovery of disease phenotypes and the assessment of preclinical therapies.
