Talk to the User – Q&A Sessions at ARVO2024

STRIA TECHConferences and Meetings, Future Meetings, Latest News

Are you keen to hear from seasoned OptoDrum users about their experience? Join us at booth #1147 during ARVO2024, where we’ll have several OptoDrum users ready to answer your questions. Tap into their experience of working with different animals (mice, rats), different disease models, and the two different versions of our OptoDrum (OptoDrum and OptoDrumPLUS).

Learn more below and register to join the upcoming Q&A sessions with them!

Mon, May 6, 2:15-2:45 p.m.: Oliver W. Gramlich, PhD – The University of Iowa

Tue, May 7, 10:45-11:15 a.m.: Marc Cerrada-Gimenez, PhD & Anni Tenhunen – Experimentica Ltd

Wed, May 8, 1:30 to 2:00 p.m.: Zsolt Ablonczy, PhD – Powered Research, LLC

Monday, May 6th from 2:15 to 2:45 p.m.
Oliver W. Gramlich, PhD – The University of Iowa

OptoDrum Applications
Screening of visual function to determine the progression of the ocular phenotype and response to treatment.

Biography
Research in Oliver’s laboratory is focused on investigating the pathobiology of vision loss in optic neuropathies and autoimmune demyelinating disorders.

Note
Oliver has been working with both versions of the OptoDrum – the OptoDrum Standard for mice and the OptoDrumPLUS for mice and rats. Ask him about the differences!

Tuesday, May 7th from 10:45 to 11:15 a.m.
Marc Cerrada-Gimenez, PhD & Anni Tenhunen – Experimentica Ltd

OptoDrum Applications
At Experimentica, we use the OptoDrum to assess visual impairments across diverse pre-clinical models: streptozotocin-induced hyperglycemia to study early changes of diabetic retinopathy, P23H and rd1 mouse strains of retinitis pigmentosa, optic nerve crush and neuroprotection.

Biography
Marc brings extensive experience to the team from diverse areas of pre-clinical research, including metabolic diseases, neurological efficacy models, and custom ocular models.
Anni has seven years of hands-on expertise in a variety of ophthalmic pre-clinical models, coupled with a strong commitment to animal welfare.

Wednesday, May 8th from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m.
Zsolt Ablonczy, PhD – Powered Research, LLC

OptoDrum Applications
Testing disease models of light induced retina degeneration, optic nerve crush, location and size of subretinal drug delivery, differences between rodent strains, transgenic animal models of rod dystrophy.

Biography
Having a background in physics, Zsolt has worked 25 years in vision research, first in academia and then in industry, developing and establishing quantitative multimodal methods to uncover biological underpinnings of blinding retina diseases.
